Activities For The Whole Family In San Diego

Located between the ocean and San Diego’s sprawling 4,600-acre Mission Bay Park, Mission Beach is the quintessential San Diego beach community. Known as The Strand, the Mission Beach peninsula extends over two miles from the entrance of the Mission Bay Channel to the north end of Pacific Beach. Book one of our San Diego vacation rentals and enjoy sunbathing, swimming, surfing, or a number of other popular beach activities on the ocean side. Water sports including jet skiing, windsurfing, sailing, and kayaking are the activities of choice on the bay side. A newly widened cement boardwalk parallels the beach permitting walking, biking, skateboarding, rollerblading and related activities. The boardwalk extends for over 11 miles as it winds its way from the ocean front on the west side of the peninsula to the bay front on the east. There are shops, restaurants, and San Diego vacation rentals outfitters at the foot of Ventura Street near the famous Big Dipper Roller Coaster and Belmont Park.

Summer Rental Restrictions – Most of our San Diego vacation rentals rent from Saturday to Saturday only, with a 7-night minimum during the summer peak season. We are a little more flexible during the first three weeks of June and the last three weeks of August. Please call us for more information about properties that may be more flexible with these restrictions.

Off-Season Restrictions – Most of our properties have a 3-night minimum during the off season. To avoid that 3-night minimum for some properties they will just charge a non-minimum night fee. Please call or email us to find out about which properties would allow that.

We are a family of 7 with 2 younger kids so having the small bunk bed room was perfect. It was definitely small but it was just enough room for our 5 and 8-year-old to sleep in. The views from this home are amazing. We had ocean views from the 2nd-floor living room, master bedroom, and rooftop deck. One drawback would be the small kitchen area. We had to do most of our meals on the rooftop deck which was actually great because then we go to take advantage of all the amazing views from up there. The Mission Sands staff was very great and very easy to deal with. Thanks!”
