Or bring your dog, since Ocean Beach is also home to the Original Dog Beach where people and pets, beach lovers and surfers celebrate one of Southern California’s last true beach towns. Let your four-legged friend run and play leash-free in the sand and surf.
In addition to its beachside location, across the street and around the corner on Newport Avenue you will find dozens of small and independent restaurants, bars, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and boutiques to satisfy all of your food and shopping cravings.
Be sure to check out the municipal pier, nationally famous burger joint Hodad;s, and if you are lucky enough to be here on a Wednesday (year round), enjoy the Farmer’s Market which features locally grown produce, artisan products, food vendors & live music.
