One of San Diego’s most anticipated events is back, this time during the fall! Typically open from the middle of July until the first week in September, the Del Mar Racetrack Fall Season brings 20 additional racing days to San Diego.
Ticket pricing is the same, but Opening Day during the fall is a time to celebrate the track’s founder, Bing Crosby, and dress is your favorite 1930’s attire. There will be $3,000 in prizes for Best Celebrity Look-alike or Famous Character, Best Dressed Couple or Debonaire Man; and Most Glamorous. The winner in each category will receive $300; the runner-up will win $200; and third place will net $100. The Bing Crosby Grand Prize — awarded to the overall contest winner — is a two-night stay at L’Auberge Del Mar in a Coastal Room, along with dinner for two at Kitchen 1540 and breakfast for two at Coastline.
Don’t forget to attend the L’Auberge Del Mar after party. The hotel is hosting a swinging Fall Meet Opening Day After-Party from 5 p.m. to midnight Oct. 29. ickets for the Fall Meet Opening Day After-Party are $100 in advance through the hotel’s e-store or $125 at the door. Party admission does not include cocktails or dinner at Kitchen 1540.
Additionally, just like during the summer months, the track will be home to multiple events. This season, the Fall Food Truck Festival will be held on November 9, College Day Tailgate Party will offer free admission for college students and features a concert by Iration. Finally, close out your Thanksgiving weekend via Sublime with Rome, who will be performing during the Craft Beer and Cider Festival on November 28.
